Product Description
Andhrímnir's Butchers Knife
Andhrimnir's Butchers Knife has been beautifully hand forged using carbon steel to achieve the iconic shape associated with this style of knife, according to finds throughout Viking Age Scandinavia and Britain.
The tang has been drawn out and bent back on itself to create a sturdy integral handle, which had been wrapped in leather for added grip. The end of the handle has been curled back to create a finger guard. The knife has been finished with our signature beeswax and linseed oil blend, which helps protect, aids in grip and enhances the natural colouring. The sheath has been sewn by hand and houses the knife.
Who is Andhrimnir?
Andhrimnir is the chef to the Aesir. He butchers the beast Sæhrímnir each day, which he then cooks in his cauldron Eldhrimnir. before feeding the Einherjar in Valhalla. Each night, Sæhrímnir is resurrected back to life, ready for slaughter again the next day. Andhrimnir serves mead produced by the goat Heiðrún.

However, like all carbon steel blades, they are susceptible to moisture erosion (rust) if not cared for correctly. Please oil the blade regularly, especially after use and before storing for long periods of time.
