How to care for your horn
Firstly, thank you for purchasing your bespoke horn product from Horns of Odin. All of our drinking horns and horn mugs are expertly hand crafted in our purpose built workshop located in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. We take great care to ensure all our items are of the highest quality possible when they arrive, and we're confident you'd like to keep them looking as good as they day they arrive.

- After use, always make sure that the Horn is rinsed thoroughly and no residue of any liquid is left inside the Horn before storing away . Use only cold to tepid water to rinse and don't use any abrasive products to clean the inside.
- If your Horn or Mug is lined with beeswax then it is not suitable for any hot/warm drinks and of course are NOT dishwasher or microwave safe !
- Always store or display the Horn or Mug out of direct sunlight and away from any source of heat and humidity
- If your Horn has any metal work , make sure that it is kept clean and dry after use to avoid any tarnishing . Also a quick polish every now and again will keep it looking Viking worthy !
- If you have purchased a Mug , Please find enclosed a Tin of finishing wax to keep the wooden base of your mug in good condition ( The wax is a blend of linseed oil and Beeswax) Just apply a small amount with a soft cloth after every couple of uses . To keep the Oak in prime condition , Avoid getting the base too wet or sitting the mug in water
- As long as the above steps are followed Your Horn / Mug should remain as good as the day it was made however if the beeswax is ever compromised then just contact us and we will arrange for the item to be sent back to us and relined.
